In order to manage our growing portfolio and expand the team, we are looking to hire an

Associate Accountant

Who will support the EU Accounting team with daily administrative and accounting tasks of the subsidiary companies that the group has in Spain as well as the office management.  You will be based in Santiago de Compostela. You will report to the Accounting Manager, located in Santiago de Compostela. Our team in Spain currently consists of 4 people and is working to supervise and manage and operate onshore wind power projects in operation and under development.

Profile:

 

Responsibilities:

  • To manage the General Ledger, including timely and accurate monthly closings, the review of account balances and the reconciliation of accounts.
  • To take care of statutory accounting and tax returns liaising with external advisors and auditors.
  • To reconcile bank statements.
  • To support to prepare the company budget and monitoring.
  • To contribute the internal monthly/quarterly/annual reporting.
  • To support to improve constantly the accounting system and process in the company.
  • To support and assist the local team in any administrative task
  • To support and assist the local team in project document management
  • To act and advise proactively to improve the work process to make the team more scalable.

Required Skills & Qualification:

  • Relevant work experience in the field of accounting for a minimum of 3-5 years
  • Proactive and result driven team player with solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Controls, Finance or Business Economics
  • Analytical and numerical skills, including advanced skills in Excel
  • Fluency in Spanish and English B2

Desirable skills & Qualification:

  • Working knowledge of the Spanish GAAP and SAGE user.
  • Affinity with international environments
  • General interest in Renewables
