Eurus secures subsidies for two green hydrogen projects in The Netherlands
For its electrolysis projects in the towns of Delfzijl and Veendam, Eurus Energy Europe B.V. (‘Eurus’) has been awarded two crucial subsidies by the Dutch national government. The ‘Oosterhorn’ project in Delfzijl is selected to receive 15 years of support in its operational phase under the SDE++ instrument. The ‘Veenkoloniën’ project in Veendam is among the 11 successful bidders in the second round of the OWE subsidy auction.
This milestone allows Eurus to start the final design and contracting phase, aiming for investment decisions on both installations by 2026. For the Oosterhorn project, Eurus has selected Equans to carry out the next steps in detailed engineering.
This subsidy award affirms Eurus’ belief that finding the right links between local generation of green electricity and uses of hydrogen are key to building viable electrolysis projects. This way, Eurus strives to support the decarbonization of industrial processes.
