Eurus enters into main agreements for Deil BESS project

Amsterdam, 23 October 2025

Eurus Energy Europe B.V. (“Eurus”) has entered the construction phase of the Deil Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project by signing its main agreements.

The Deil BESS will be a 15 MW / 40 MWh grid-connected battery system located in the municipality of West-Betuwe, The Netherlands. It will be built near the substation of Eurus’ Windpark Deil, situated along the A15 highway at the ‘Deil’ junction. The Deil BESS is designed to provide grid stabilization services and reduce congestion. By utilizing the existing infrastructure of the neighbouring wind farm, it will achieve this in a sustainable and cost-effective manner.

Eurus has selected Gotion High-tech Co., Ltd (“Gotion”), a Tier 1 battery supplier backed by the Volkswagen Group, to supply the battery system through it Europe-based manufacturing facility in Gottingen, Germany. Via Eurus’ sister company, Toyota Tsusho Europe SA, the battery system will be delivered to the project site. Gotion provides a long-term warranty to secure the performance over the lifetime of the project.

Detailed engineering, construction and system integration are conducted by TRICERA energy GmbH (“TRICERA), a German engineering firm. TRICERA is responsible for providing the balance-of-plant scope. With the energy management system developed by TRICERA, the project relies on a flexible solution that is specifically adapted to the requirements of the project.

Flexcity Netherlands B.V. (“Flexcity”) has been selected to provide route-to-market services for the project. In collaboration with BESS optimizer enspired GmbH, Flexcity will trade the battery capacity across various markets. Eurus chose Flexcity due to its extensive experience in dispatching flexible assets and its ability to optimize revenues in different markets. Together, Eurus and Flexcity ensure the adaptive use of the grid connection, allowing distribution operator Liander to provide the required grid access for the project under a novel and innovative contracting framework.

Eurus is proud to have reached this stage of the project with all parties involved and looks forward to the next steps. The construction and commissioning of the installation are planned for the first half of 2026.
